Countdown to Auckland’s annual business awards begins

The clock is ticking for entries into this year’s Westpac Auckland Business Awards. Companies have just over two weeks to enter the region’s largest annual celebration of business success.

Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED) runs the prestigious annual awards programme for businesses in Auckland North, West and South zones, and encourages all businesses to enter.

“If you are in business then you’re in with a chance to win by entering the annual business awards. It is that simple,” says Brett O’Riley, Chief Executive of ATEED.

“There is still time for companies to prepare impressive entries, and ATEED can provide guidance to help businesses which are keen to enter but may not have had time so far.

Entries close on Friday, 28 June and finalists will be announced in July. Award winners will be announced at gala dinners across the region in September and October.

Brett O’Riley says the awards key intention is to celebrate Auckland’s business success, no matter what size.

“The region’s economy is built upon a thriving small and medium-sized enterprise community, which operates alongside significant multinational businesses. Collectively these businesses will help us drive the key goals of Auckland’s Economic Development Strategy – 6 per cent export growth, 5 per cent GDP growth and 2 per cent productivity growth,” says Brett O’Riley.

“The awards highlight the importance of Auckland’s business community and provide direction for future development to those entering via specific feedback on each entry from astute and experienced judges. Previous entrants have told us that the process of entering is as rewarding as winning.

“The awards are also a chance to showcase your business, how it is innovating and its achievements, both to potential business partners and customers,” says Brett O’Riley.

ATEED and Auckland Chamber of Commerce work together to celebrate business success through the Westpac Auckland Business Awards.

Details about the locally-based awards in Auckland North, West, and South are available at BusinessAucklandNZ.com/Awards and for Central at aucklandchamber.co.nz.
