Jetstar Hits Four Year Milestone

• Over 5 million domestic passengers and 36,000 flights since 2009

To celebrate Jetstar’s fourth domestic birthday of flying Kiwis around the country, Jetstar has today launched a Return Domestics Fares for $1 Extra Sale*.

David Hall, Jetstar CEO Australia and New Zealand, said that since launching domestic services in 2009 passengers had embraced the airline’s everyday low fares and welcomed competition on domestic routes.

“Jetstar has undoubtedly made its mark in New Zealand in the past four years, growing to over 250 domestic flights each week and selling more than 1.5 million seats for under NZ$50.

“Our fourth birthday is the perfect time to acknowledge the continuing support we receive from New Zealanders with a special celebration sale.”

Mr Hall said the airline was continuing to go from strength to strength in New Zealand.

“We have recorded very good domestic on-time performance for the first five months of this year and our strengthening customer satisfaction levels continue to improve as more and more kiwis are choosing to fly with us for leisure and smart business.

Our Jetstar Flying Start Programme is also helping a wide range of charitable organisations and making a positive difference in communities around New Zealand.”

Since 2009 Jetstar has carried more than 5 million passengers on its domestic New Zealand services. The Jetstar Group celebrated its 100th aircraft earlier this year and its 100 millionth passenger milestone late last year.

Jetstar’s 4th Birthday sale starts on Friday 14 June 2013. To celebrate, you can book return fares to selected domestic destinations for just $1 extra.

For example, when booking a return fare, you can fly Auckland to Wellington from $45 and get your flight on the way back for just $1, so your total return fare is from just $46.

Sale ends midnight 23:59 on 17 June, unless sold out prior. Checked baggage not included, selected travel dates and conditions apply.

Checked baggage from 15kg to 40kg can be added for an additional $10–$35 per passenger, per one-way fare and $20–$70 per passenger, per return fare.

Prices are based on payment by direct deposit / POLi or voucher for bookings through jetstar.com. For all other bookings, a booking and service fee of $5 per passenger per one-way fare and $10 per passenger per return fare applies.
