Beat the Excise Tax Rise

Gull discounts fuel by 10c a litre ahead of excise tax increase

Auckland, 27 June 2013 – Gull today announced it was slashing 10c a litre from all fuel grades commencing at 7am on Thursday 27 June.

“This is a great opportunity for motorists to beat the \ excise tax rise, by filling up and saving.

“Gull is committed to providing value to Kiwi motorists and passing savings onto the market,” says Stirk.

Gull will be discounting all fuel grades (including diesel) until midday Friday 28 June.

At the majority of Gull outlets where Gull controls retail prices, prices are as follows:

Fuel Grade Unmanned Site Manned Site
Regular (91 octane) $2.019 $2.039
Force 10 (98 Octane) $2.169 $2.189

The company is a first mover, introducing innovative new products to the New Zealand energy market. These include low sulphur diesel and New Zealand’s first biofuel, Gull Force 10. Both fuels brought environmental benefits to motorists well ahead of the opposition. Gull’s “Drive Thru” outlets - with lower cost to develop and no staff on site - are another New Zealand first, bringing further value to the consumer.

Gull has a total of 53 retail outlets. Including Night 'n Day Foodstores, independent Gull sites, marina installations and 11 Drive Thru sites. Geographically retail outlets span between Whangarei and Masterton.
