our survey which have provided us with some excellent
insight into conditions in manufacturing, retailing, real

Welcome to the late-June BNZ Confidence Survey
results
Confidence about the state of the economy in a year’s time has remained near last month’s record high with a net 56% optimism from 57% four weeks ago. This result is in line with other measures and suggests accelerating growth in the NZ economy.
Do you personally feel happy or unhappy that house prices are rising?
Last month we reported that a net 29% of the 93 respondents were Unhappy about house prices rising. This month the result is exactly the same for 642 respondents, but the proportion feeling Happy has risen to 36% from 29% with Indifferent accounting for the remainder.
Are you relaxed or concerned about New Zealand's rising economic relationship with China?
Last month a net 44% of the 93 respondents were relaxed about our economic relationship with China. This month again a net 44% of the 642 respondents are relaxed.
Are you thinking about borrowing more money for your business in the next three months?
Last month 28% of respondents said they were thinking about borrowing more money. This month the result is, statistically-speaking, the same at 27%.
