NZ International Business Forum welcomes Taiwan Trade Deal

NZ International Business Forum welcomes Taiwan Trade Deal

The NZ International Business Forum (NZIBF) warmly welcomes the signing of the New Zealand-Taiwan Economic Co-operation Agreement in Wellington today.

“This is another big win for the process of trade liberalisation and a further impressive sign of New Zealand’s trade negotiating skill,” said NZIBF Chairman Sir Graeme Harrison.

New Zealand’s new agreement with Taiwan gives privileged access to New Zealand’s 11th largest trading partner and major market for dairy, beef and deer velvet. New Zealand will now enjoy first class access to the markets of the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

“Negotiating this deal has demanded particular skill. We pay tribute to Trade Minister Groser and his officials for this achievement. New Zealand’s leading export industries gathered in the NZ International Business Forum look forward to expanding our business with Taiwan to the benefit of citizens and consumers in both countries.”
