Thirty years of top experiences

Thirty years of top experiences

New Zealand’s Premier Holiday Park Group celebrated 30 years in business with a conference in Queenstown dedicated to forward-thinking initiatives and a range of customer service-focused improvements.

Dedicated to delivering a ‘Top experience, always’, TOP 10 Holiday Parks are the trusted name in top value accommodation, with superb motels, cabins and sites at spectacular locations throughout New Zealand.

Celebrating three decades of success and attended by delegates from all around the country, the three-day ‘Turn Up The Volume’ 30th anniversary conference and AGM recognised outstanding TOP 10 service from the North and South Islands.

It also enabled individual owners to network and benefit from the words of inspirational speakers such as Tourism New Zealand board chair Kerry Prendergast and rower Shaun Quincey, only the second New Zealander to successfully row across the Tasman.

New TOP 10 Holiday Parks Group CEO David Ovendale, who has joined the company following three years spent in Sydney where he ran NRMA’s retail travel division, said the group had “set the standards” for the country’s holiday parks and continued to do so.

“You know when you book to stay at a TOP 10 property you’re assured of great accommodation, a relaxing atmosphere, and fabulous facilities,” he said.

“We’ve been around for 30 years offering that top experience, and we’ll be continuing to grow and improve for the next 30, whether it’s through technology developments, development of our people, services and facilities, and appreciation of the loyalty we’ve inspired in those who’ve enjoyed a great Kiwi holiday with us.”

Mr Ovendale said the importance of customer service feedback was reflected in the choice of Motueka TOP 10 Holiday Park as the conference’s Supreme Award winner, announced at this weekend’s gala dinner.

“Our customers just couldn’t say enough at every level about owners Steve and Jeanette Edwards, who thoroughly deserved to win the top award,” he said.

“They also won the Best Branded award and were finalists in the Top Service and Best Web Profile divisions.”

The Top Service award went to Lake Taupo TOP 10 Holiday Resort, Coromandel TOP 10 took out the Most Improved award, and best Web Profile went to Christchurch TOP 10 Holiday Park.

Other awards went to TOP 10 Holiday Parks in Lake Taupo, Fairlie, Martinborough, Hot Water Beach, Coromandel and Russell.
