Xero workshop great success
The first of four workshops for business run by cloud accounting company Xero and the Wellington Employers’ Chamber of Commerce has been labelled a great success.
The workshop was held at the Xero office in Wellington last night and was on the subject of ‘Building a Global Class Website’.
Chamber CEO Raewyn Bleakley said the workshop was a fantastic opportunity for the many who attended to learn first-hand from the people behind an extremely successful company, and it was extremely well received.
“If they don’t know this stuff, who does? I’m sure everyone who was there came away very impressed and with practical and creative ideas they can use to benefit their own businesses.”
The workshop explored website design and construction, how to use search and content marketing practices to bring prospects to a website, and how to optimise website design to increase conversion of prospects to sales. It focused on Xero’s marketing website Xero.com, which aims to attract one million visitors a month.
Raewyn Bleakley said Xero’s presenters, Jolene Enoka and Dan Newman, connected easily with the business audience.
“They were great. It’s very generous of Rod Drury and his staff to be giving their time to share what they know. This is great for businesses, great for Wellington, and it’s great for the Chamber to have this close relationship with a company such as Xero.
“The workshop showed the advantage of belonging to the Employers’ Chamber of Commerce and the benefits of the member-to-member services that the chamber is able to provide.”
Vicki Stent of The Training Practice said she learned a lot.
“I found it highly informative and motivating, the speakers Jolene and Dan were engaging and obviously passionate about what they are doing with Xero, and they certainly knew their stuff. They've provided me with some useful ideas that I can now apply to our own website.”
Details of the remaining workshops are:
August 14: Scaling the business, building a best-in-class product team: The things that worked, and didn’t, as Xero grew and continues to adapt to massive growth.
September 4: Cloud for the Enterprise: Issues and opportunities around the numerous cloud tools that can be used by teams and departments in each business.
September 18: Global recruitment and opening offices around the world: planning and challenges in anticipating head count, recruiting offshore, on-boarding, and maintaining the company culture, as well as finding flexible and cost-effective accommodation that supports a business’s culture.
