NZ Fashion Week – The Smart Look For Sponsorship This Season
New Zealand Fashion Week – The Smart Look For Sponsorship This Season
With less than five days to go until New Zealand Fashion Week (NZFW) kicks off for the 13th year, NZFW is proud to thank its line up of sponsorship partners, supporting both NZFW and NZ Fashion Weekend.
This year NZFW’s Elite partners are; ATEED (Auckland Tourism Events and Economic Development), MediaWorks TV and Radio, Auckland Conventions, Westpac and Fashion One.
While these Elite partners deliver huge value to NZFW and the designers involved in the event, they also see NZFW as providing a fantastic platform to leverage their own commercial objectives.
For ATEED, NZFW is a key event that attracts visitors to Auckland. ATEED General Manager Destination & Marketing, Rachael Carroll says the organisation is proud to sponsor NZFW.
“After some fantastic results last year, we’re delighted that NZFW is a highlight of Auckland’s current spring marketing campaign,” says Ms Carroll.
“The campaign capitalises on Auckland’s packed line-up of events this spring. We’re excited to see the public component of NZFW growing so fashion loving visitors to our city get a chance to be part of a truly international event,” she added.
NZFW and Wicked: The Musical are the two headline events in ATEED’s spring campaign, which highlights the feast of events Auckland is serving up during September and October. NZFW kicks-off the campaign, which aims to entice visitors to extend their stay in the region and enjoy the diverse range of activities and events on offer.
Every runway show will be exclusively available to view online within hours as part of MediaWorks’ comprehensive broadcast sponsorship of New Zealand Fashion Week. 3 News, George FM and 3News.co.nz/fashion will be the go-to media outlets for fashion followers, with hundreds of hours of Fashion Week coverage taking viewers behind-the-scenes and onto the catwalk at New Zealand’s biggest fashion event.
3News.co.nz/Fashion is the official NZFW hub for the event, and the centrepiece of MediaWorks’ coverage. Throughout the week, 3 News will film every runway show, editing the two-camera footage onsite so a full highlights package can be published online within four hours. NZFW 2013 also sees the return of TV3’s daily online fashion review programme, Fashion Front Row, hosted by 3 News Entertainment Editor Kate Rodger and Metro Magazine Fashion Editor Rebecca Wadey.
George FM is the radio home of Fashion Week, bringing listeners comprehensive coverage of the most stylish event of the year. Thane Kirby’s Drive show will be broadcast LIVE from the heart of Fashion Week, capturing the excitement and glamour of the event. Television coverage includes exclusive daily reports on Firstline, 3 News at midday and 6pm and Nightline, covering everything from Kiwi design stars to emerging talent, with Kate Rodger and others filing LIVE from the venue.
The Elite sponsors are joined by a strong group of Support, Supplier and Affiliate partners, which help make NZFW the dynamic event it is. Telecom, Sofitel, FashioNZ and BMW all sit at Support partner level, each of them delivering huge benefits to the event.
This Year BMW continues its support of the New Generation platform, which allows the new breed of New Zealand design talent to show on the NZFW catwalk.
BMW provided a dynamic canvas for each of the three New Generation designers to showcase their talents, with three vehicles from the NZFW VIP fleet adorned with their bespoke designs. BMW will also deliver a monetary benefit to one of the designers, with a $5,000 people’s choice award, which will be voted on by guests attending NZFW.
A stable of longstanding Supplier partners is this year joined by Resene Paints. Resene will be working with a group of 12 celebrities and NZFW VIP’s at the NZFW opening event and throughout the week, to bring to life a design work by actor, artist and animator, Guy Capper.
Via the creative talents of the celebrity guests and featuring Resene Fashion Colour paints, this “paint by numbers” pattern will evolve during the week. Once completed the work then will be auctioned off on Trade Me, with proceeds benefiting NZFW’s official charity partner for 2013, Endometriosis NZ.
Other Supplier partners include; Allpress Coffee, Apparel Magazine, Bombay Sapphire, BRITA, Chapman Tripp, KMS, M.A.C. Cosmetics, Oceania, Platinum Hire, Red Bull, Remix Magazine, Sato, SMP Solutions, Tax Impact and Tohu.
NZFW also enjoys the support of 100 Affiliate partners, which all bring something different, something fun and exciting to the event.
“NZFW is not just about clothes on catwalks, it’s about a full fashion experience,” said NZFW Sponsorship Manager Myken Stewart.
“We continue to develop this event with the help of some amazing partners so every year it is bigger and better for the designers and for the guests. It’s fun, it’s a really positive environment and we know that this year, with everyone we have on board, it’s going to be the best NZFW and NZ Fashion Weekend yet,” Stewart added.
