Emirates Appoints Bryan Banston Vice President Commercial Operations Australasia

Emirates has announced the appointment of Bryan Banston as its Vice President, Commercial Operations, Australasia.

Mr Banston, originally from Melbourne, joined Emirates two years ago as National Accounts Manager for Australia, and prior to joining the airline had over 20 years’ experience in the airline industry.

Mr Banston’s appointment will see him responsible for Emirates’ operations in one of its top three regions in terms of revenue and passenger traffic. Together with global aviation partner Qantas, the airlines offer 129 flights per week in each direction between New Zealand and Australia and 98 flights per week in each direction between Australia and Dubai.

“I look forward to taking up the reins for Emirates in Australia and New Zealand,” says Mr Banston.

“Our footprint in Australia and New Zealand has gone from strength to strength in recent years with the support of a world-class team of employees on both sides of the Tasman. I hope to continue this strong tradition.

“The future is bright after our first 10 years of operation in New Zealand, as we look towards the impending launch of the third daily A380 service to Auckland, through Brisbane, and of course creating added value for our New Zealand customers through building our global aviation partnership with Qantas.

“We are also particularly excited at this time to follow the fortunes of Emirates Team New Zealand as it challenges for the America’s Cup.”
