Harcourts has welcomed two new academy trainers to its corporate team, Suzy Bray and Richard Reith.
Suzy is the new Harcourts’ Northern and Central
Region Academy Trainer.
She joins the group after a 12
year career in real estate, including time as a top
Harcourts’ sales consultant based in Kumeu.
Richard has joined Harcourts as the Wellington Academy trainer.
He comes from a rich and varied background, including serving 25 years in Britain’s Royal Air Force, where, amongst other things, he was involved in catering for the housing needs of British Servicemen in the UK and overseas.
CEO Hayden Duncan says he is thrilled to have two people of Suzy’s and Richard’s calibre and experience in the roles, which are of vital importance to the group.
Harcourts’ academy trainers are responsible for ensuring new and existing sales consultants meet strict Real Estate Agents Authority (REAA) requirements around licensing and codes of conduct.
This is part of the REAA’s aim to promote a high standard of service and professionalism in the real estate industry and protect buyers and sellers of property – something Harcourts takes very seriously, Hayden Duncan says.
“We expect all our sales consultants to be professionals with knowledge and integrity who meet and surpass REAA standards. That is why Suzy and Richard’s roles are of the utmost importance to our business.”
Suzy recently completed a Graduate Diploma in Business (Real Estate) at Massey University and is now AREINZ. She says it was while studying for her Graduate Diploma that she decided real estate training was where her future lay.
“I enjoy helping people reach their potential and sharing the knowledge I have accumulated during my career.
“We have a range of people wanting to make their mark in real estate, be it career changers or younger people straight from university. Real estate is now a recognised profession and as such requires continuing education. I’m excited to be helping Harcourts’ sales consultants become and continue to be real estate leaders,” Suzy says.
Richard moved to New Zealand in 2004 and later took up a role of branch manager for the Napier Mitre 10 Mega before beginning his career in real estate with Harcourts four years ago.
He says he is particularly interested in evolving legislative changes to the real estate business and believes continued education is vital for the success of the profession, making the role of Wellington Academy Trainer the perfect fit for him.
Established in 1888, Harcourts is New Zealand’s
oldest and largest real estate group, and proud sponsor of
the upcoming ANZA Challenge. For more information go to
