Toolbox Seminars: Keys to Winning the Right Work

MEDIA RELEASE: 23 September 2013

Toolbox Seminars: Keys to Winning the Right Work

Certified Builders Association of New Zealand’s upcoming ToolBox seminars will focus on how builders can make sure they get their share of future work at an acceptable profit margin.

The “Keys to Winning the Right Work” series of ToolBox Seminars will be held in more than 30 centres throughout New Zealand during October and November.
Certified Builders Chief Executive Grant Florence said assisting builders to improve their business skills and understand the new environment that they are working in is vitally important for the future wellbeing of the industry.

“For too long builders often found themselves competing solely on price, which often was not the best practice. Good builders have so much more to offer a prospective customer than purely price and the ToolBox Seminars have been designed to help builders understand this better,” Mr Florence said.

“Understanding how to best approach and work with a potential customer and learn some interesting and very helpful tactics are all really important aspects of how builders can make sure they get their share of future work at an acceptable profit margin,” he said.

Certified Builders will partner with nationwide building supplies merchant Carters for the ToolBox Seminar Series. Carters Chief Executive Paul Bull said Carters is excited to be part of the Certified Builders’ ToolBox Seminar Series.

“We are pleased to be able to provide professional support for the seminars by sharing some of our sales experiences at each seminar. Winning the right work topic is a key to the success of both Certified Builders’ current and future customers,” Mr Bull said.
Certified Builders is the preeminent nationwide network of qualified and trusted builders. Established in 1998, Certified Builders has more than 2800 members – who are all certified, trade qualified, trusted building professionals.
