Caffeine powers supporters cheering at Nespresso Racing

Caffeine powers supporters cheering at Nespresso Racing Lounge

Wednesday 25 September: An estimated 5000 coffees have been consumed since America’s Cup Racing commenced on Sunday 8th September as racing fans and coffee lovers pack into The Nespresso Racing Lounge at Auckland’s Soul Bar each race day.

In what has become the longest competition in Cup history, Nespresso coffee has kept supporters cheering as they drink cup after cup in search for the final point and the ultimate Cup!

“It has been an incredible atmosphere each morning as supporters and Nespresso coffee lovers continue to show up day after day to cheer on our team”, says Guillaume Chesneau, Country Manager Nespresso New Zealand.

Nespresso lover and racing fan Warwick Spedding says “It’s been absolutely fantastic being here, enjoying the racing with other fans. I may need a new pacemaker after this though!”

As sponsor of Emirates Team New Zealand and official coffee of the 34th America’s Cup Nespresso is powering the team on the water as well as all the supporters onshore.

In San Francsico the Nespresso cafes have become the unofficial meeting point for Kiwis when they arrive at the America’s Cup Park to cheer on Team New Zealand.

With six pop-up Nespresso Cafes in San Francisco for the duration of the Cup, including one in the Waka on the ETNZ base, Nespresso have 15 permanent staff onsite to ensure our team and all the supporters are able to have their daily coffees without a hiccup.

Three, 40-foot containers store all the coffee required to power the 260 machines which feed Emirates Team New Zealand and the village and park cafes.

The secret weapon for the Team, who have two machines in their canteen, Nespresso is hoping the Team will have the extra boost they need to get across the finish line first tomorrow.
