Verdict/MEA Mobile Campaign for Rip Curl Recognised for Best Use of Mobile in Marketing

Auckland, NZ – Thursday, September 26, 2013

Newly merged creative communications agency Verdict/MEA Mobile has been selected as a finalist in the Australian Mobile Awards.

From its Hamilton headquarters the agency has been recognized in the Best use of Mobile in Marketing category for its campaign to promote Rip Curl’s Pro Surf Competition.

The Australian Mobile Awards celebrates creativity, courage and innovation in mobile achievements. Verdict/MEA Mobile’s campaign featured a limited edition video app that promoted the 51st annual Rip Curl Pro Surf Competition. Nearly 300,000 new users downloaded the app during the 3-week campaign.

• The app reached iTunes top #20 in around 40 countries (iPad & iPhone photography).

• With three offices worldwide Verdict/MEA Mobile is a full service creative communications agency with services spanning brand strategy, PR, web, ad placement and video production.

• The agency is rapidly expanding including acquiring top iPhone developer SoftwareX.

Director Rodney Macfarlane said that being selected as a finalist in the Australian Mobile Awards, amongst international brands and agencies, is great recognition for the agency and reflects the capabilities of the talented team we’ve put together.

“The agency’s long history and credentials in creative marketing and communications, together with our new team, mean we can now produce really innovative digital campaigns in-house,” he said.
