Best Workplace Finalist – Icing On the Cake For Flight Centre
Flight Centre New Zealand Limited continues its successful run, being named as a finalist in the Enterprise Workplace category, in the country’s largest and most prestigious annual workplace survey, The Kenexa Best Workplaces Awards 2013.
Flight Centre’s general manager of retail, Sue Matson, credits Flight Centre’s culture of growth and said that this is the icing on the cake after a record year.
“We have been in business in New Zealand for over 25 years now and we have 10 different brands encompassing everything from retail to corporate, foreign exchange and event management. Throughout this, our people have always been our first priority. The past financial year was a record success for Flight Centre and it just goes to show that employee satisfaction and excellent results go hand-in-hand.
“From the very beginning of every employee’s career at Flight Centre we identify what we call their ‘brightness of future’ and provide a clear pathway to help our employees achieve their career goals. This is embedded in our culture because we firmly believe that the growth of our employees, both personally and from a business perspective, grows our company.”
Kenexa’s Best Workplaces Survey is the largest study of workplaces of its kind in New Zealand and this year includes the opinions of nearly 39,000 employees from 243 organisations across the country.
Ms Matson said that to be named as a finalist for so many years is testament to the company’s dedication to its people.
“We have such a strong team environment - from monthly award nights to giving our people ownership of their part of the business. This is what makes our employees passionate about what we are working to achieve together.
“Our working environment means we are able to create amazing holiday packages for our customers, all of which are created with pride and passion.”
