Grandpa Simpson Tipped to Say Bye-bye     

While Channel 10 viewers may still be coming to terms with the death of Patrick on Offspring, it looks like The Simpsons will also be saying goodbye to a favourite character following the announcement that one will kick the bucket in the upcoming 25th series of the show.

But who will it be? The Simpsons are tipped to be one family member down, with Homer’s dad Grandpa Simpson the $3.50 favourite to check out.

It looks likely to be bad news for Homer either way, with his best friend Barney Gumble next in the market at $4.00 with Sideshow Bob ($6.00), Edna Krabappel ($7.00), Apu Nahasapeemapetilon ($7.00), Moe Szylak ($9.00) and Krusty the Clown ($9.00) also far from safe.

Unsurprisingly all of the main members of the Simpson family are the outsiders in the market, with Lisa and Maggie $101, Bart and Marge $151 and Homer $201.

“We spent hours and hours watching Simpsons episodes in the office… then decided we better actually come up with a market. We think Homer is safe as houses, but given the last time the Simpsons did something like this they had Maggie as the one who shot Mr Burns, so someone from left field isn’t out of the question!” said sportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson.
