Property Council - New Wellington President

Media Release

3 October 2013

New Wellington President

Property Council congratulates Andrew Hay on his appointment as the President of its Wellington branch.

Andrew Hay has been the Regional Manager with DNZ for nearly 10 years and brings 17 years of experience in national portfolios in retail, industrial and office property.

“We are delighted to have Andrew as our Wellington branch president and his extensive background in commercial property will be an asset to our organisation” said Connal Townsend, Property Council’s chief executive.

Mr Hay’s career ranges from property development to on-going asset maximisation in New Zealand and at a senior level in Europe. Prior to joining DNZ Mr Hay was based in Dublin, managing the property portfolio of Ireland’s biggest betting agency throughout the country.

“As president, I would like to foster a greater relationship with the wider stakeholder community in Wellington, both with local and central Government and within the region,” said Andrew Hay.

“Nationally we face many challenges, from the cost of insurance to seismic resilience, retention of historic buildings and housing affordability” noted Mr Hay. “These affect all building users and I look forward to actively working with Property Council’s national office toward sustainable solutions for our wide ranging membership base, especially throughout the Wellington region.”

Property Council thanks former Wellington president Ian Cassels for his contribution at a branch and national level and wishes him all the best for the future.
