TAG Oil has announced the
appointment of Mr. Chris Ferguson as its Chief Financial
Officer ("CFO"), replacing Mr. Blair Johnson. Mr. Ferguson
will be joining the TAG team in its New Plymouth
headquarters commencing on December 1, 2013.
Mr. Ferguson is a qualified Chartered Accountant who holds a Bachelor of Management Studies in Accounting and has 18 years of financial, accounting and operational experience in both the public and private sectors. For the past fourteen years, Mr. Ferguson has built up extensive oil and gas experience within the Taranaki Basin, having held senior financial positions with both local and international exploration and production companies.
Recently, Mr. Ferguson spent five years working with Origin Energy New Zealand as their Finance and Planning Manager, where he was leading the financial planning, accounting, tax and production accounting functions which included the implementation of strategic plans, executing supplier contract strategies and managing contractor performance.
In his position as TAG's CFO, Mr. Ferguson will be responsible for TAG's finances and working with the New Zealand team to execute all operational strategies and development, as well as leading the accounting and risk management team.
TAG CEO, Garth Johnson commented, "Blair has contributed diligently to TAG's success over the past ten years, however TAG's rapid growth in Taranaki has created a need for our CFO to reside within the New Plymouth office on a full-time basis to work with our operations team daily. Chris' strong financial background makes him a great candidate for TAG, and his knowledge of the New Zealand oil and gas business and Canadian regulatory reporting makes for a great fit. We look forward to working with Chris as TAG continues to be the most active driller in New Zealand. At the same time, we appreciate Blair's hard-work and dedication to TAG over the years, and we wish him the best in his future endeavours."
