TV commercial season kicks off in the Capital
Wellington and thousands of its residents are set to star yet again in a big budget TV commercial produced by Curious Films and proudly supported by the regional film office, Film Wellington (a programme of Grow Wellington).
The commercial marks the start of the “TVC season” (television commercial season) where film companies and agencies roll into town to dress and play with the streets, harbour and hills of Wellington in order to create world class commercials.
A production of this size delivers considerable benefits to the region, says Film Wellington Manager Nicci Lock. “It provides international exposure for Wellington’s fabulous urban cityscapes and the economic impact to the region is significant.”
“Wellington’s landscape, crew and facilities are world-class and its Councils are film-friendly and agile – all good reasons why clients such as Exit Films and others, choose to film here. We’re delighted to have them in Wellington and grateful for the strong support from local businesses, residents and our council,” says Ms Lock.
Curious Films is currently going through the full notification, approval and permissions process with the Wellington City Council and filming is expected to begin on Friday 22nd November in and around the city.
Proposed road closures are to follow in the coming days and with plenty of notification to affected residents and businesses.
