New Metros Leader - Asia for Aurecon


Stuart Littlewood has joined Aurecon as Metros Leader, Asia. Based in Singapore, he will be responsible for building Aurecon’s rail business across the region.

With over 30 years of experience in delivering significant metro and urban rail systems in Asia and the Middle East, Stuart has extensive experience across the project lifecycle of urban rail. “It is an exciting time to be joining Aurecon. Sophisticated, sustainable urban rail systems are in high demand in Asia and Aurecon has a strong range of multidisciplinary expertise to support cost effective but sustainable delivery of these projects,” he said.

Reporting to Tony Barry, Aurecon’s General Manager - Asia, Stuart will lead Aurecon’s Transport team in building awareness of Aurecon‘s expertise and offering across all aspects of urban rail including metros, light rail, high speed passenger rail, and monorail. “I want to ensure all our transport clients in Asia are getting the full benefit of Aurecon’s multidisciplinary expertise,” he said.

Stuart was previously Director, Asia with Calibre Global, responsible for developing the rail business in Asia. Prior to this, he spent ten years with Parsons Brinckerhoff (Asia) Ltd where he led teams delivering a range of metro and rail projects across Asia including:

• Ho Chi Minh City Line 1, Vietnam – led the technical team acting as employer’s representative on this 20km urban transit system
• Qatar Rail Development Program - established the Strategic Program Management team for the Qatar Rail Development Program
• Shenzhen Metro Line 3, China – led the multi-disciplinary team carrying out the project and construction management on this USD1.2 billion design / build project for a 33km metro line
• Bangkok MRTA Purple Line, Thailand – project management and detailed design of this 23km elevated mass transit system
• Shatin to Central link, Hong Kong – prepared documentation for design / build contract for railway infrastructure which included major environmental and heritage challenges.

He also previously held roles delivering major rail infrastructure with Bechtel International in Asia, Hong Kong MassTransit Railway Corporation and British Airports Authority (BAA) PLC.
