The Highly Anticipated Lg G2 Makes New Zealand Debut

Packed with design innovations, LG’s latest premium smartphone is now on sale exclusively at Harvey Norman retail stores.

Auckland, 4th November, 2013. On sale this week is LG’s newest flagship smartphone the G2, which is packed with new and innovative features, some of which are new to mobile phones. The G2 is available as an unlocked handset exclusively through Harvey Norman in a 16GB version in black and white for $999.

The G2 has been built with the customer at the centre of its innovation after LG spent thousands of hours of user observations and research to find out what customers most wanted in a smartphone. All this resulted in a much larger 3000mAh battery, almost exactly double of that the new iPhone models. Sound and power buttons have moved from traditional placement on the side of a smartphone to the back of the G2, which is perfect for left and right-handed users and the design has also been cited as ideal for capturing that all important 'selfie'.

The G2’s camera is 13 Megapixels featuring Optical Image Stabilisation to reduce the chance of blur when taking videos and images on the go and ensures clearer and sharper images. Also, the camera features scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass that protects the lens from blemishes and fingerprints.

The G2 features some other cool new and innovative features:
• Knock On - With the new KnockON feature, the handsets can be powered on or off by simply tapping twice on the display.

• Audio Zoom - A new feature which enables you to Zoom your sound to focus on certain sounds that you want to hear.

• Answer Me - Automatically answers a phone call when you raise your G2 to your ear.

• Guest Mode — Allows users to personalise the smartphone experience for themselves as well as a guest. Users can control which apps and features they wish guests to view by personalising a different unlock pattern on the device’s home screen. For instance, a child can be given one unlock pattern that gives access to a selection of functions, such as games, and blocks access to all other content and features.

• QuickRemote — This feature lets consumers control household devices from the one device. With an integrated universal remote feature, users can control almost any infrared enabled device, such as TVs, air conditioners and Blu-Ray players. QuickRemote is preloaded onto the phone, controls over 90% of consumer electronic devices on the market and can learn new codes for devices not pre-loaded already.

LG has upped the ante for mobile devices by producing a display capable of showing images in vibrant colour and clarity with a 5.2-inch Full-HD IPS display. The G2’s true-to-nature colours, sharp text, high-definition details and cinema-like 16:9 aspect ratio offers a more relaxed viewing experience with less eye strain. With over 400 pixels per inch, users will gain an authentic view of what they see on screen. Additionally, LG’s innovative Dual Routing technology reduces the phone’s bezel to a mere 2.65mm, allowing for the screen to almost extend across the handset's entire front.
