Vodafone gifts free 4G on Prepay to Kiwis for Christmas

Vodafone today announces its Christmas gift to Prepay customers – 4G is available, at no extra cost, from 11 December.

Matt Williams, Vodafone Consumer Director, says: “We’ve seen the way our customers are using the speed of 4G for activities like shopping and streaming music and video on the move. We’re thrilled to make the same super fast experience available to our prepay customers.”

Vodafone offers the largest range of 4G-capable devices at a range of price points – 27 now, including the recently launched Apple iPhone 5s, Apple iPhone 5c and Vodafone Pocket WiFi R215.

Kiwis wanting to experience the speed of 4G will need a 4G-capable device with the latest software, and be in a 4G coverage area. And Vodafone Prepay customers don’t need to SIM-swap to access 4G – they simply reply “YES” to a TXT notification message to be upgraded to a 4G-capable plan.

The device seamlessly switches to Vodafone’s next fastest 3G speeds when customers leave the 4G coverage area.

“We’re making it simple and easy for our Prepay customers to use Vodafone 4G,” Matt continues.

Vodafone’s 4G network is now well-established, with broad national coverage available to over 1.3 million Kiwis across 12 locations: Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Queenstown, Wanaka, Lake Brunner, Taupo, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Hamilton, Arrowtown and parts of the Coromandel.
