Novotel Christchurch Receives 4+ Stars from Qualmark

Recently re-opened Novotel Christchurch Cathedral Square has been awarded a 4 Star Plus rating by Qualmark, the trusted New Zealand quality rating system for tourism products.
The Qualmark Hotel rating recognises and celebrates the exceptional quality and standards of the refurbished and revitalised Christchurch property, which was closed in February 2011 following the city’s devastating earthquake. After more than two years of restoration and thoughtful enhancement, the Novotel officially re-opened its doors on 4th September 2013.
Novotel Christchurch Cathedral Square General Manager, Carl Braddock, says “It is a moment of pride for the team in Christchurch and Accor in New Zealand, to see Novotel Christchurch rated the newest 4 Star Plus hotel in town with the Qualmark stamp of approval.”
“The Qualmark rating signals to the world that we are not only fit for purpose, but stylishly handsome in our rooms and facilities, and we look forward to welcoming guests to our 4 Star Plus hotel,” says Carl.
“The extensive refit of Novotel, which was only a year old when the earthquake hit, saw only minor structural repair and extensive cosmetic repair, mostly to the exterior panels giving it a look as good as the day it opened in 2010.”
The Novotel is centrally located in iconic Cathedral Square, just minutes from many of Christchurch’s re-emerging attractions, including the New Regent Street art deco shopping precinct and the vibrant and innovative Re:Start shopping mall, developed using brightly coloured and creatively arranged shipping containers.
In the centre of the CBD, Novotel Christchurch Cathedral Square is also ideally located for executives visiting the garden city on business. Along with an entire floor dedicated to meetings and conferences, the hotel features a gymnasium, The Square Restaurant and Bar, and a combination of 154 Premium, Executive Rooms and Suites.
