World of WearableArt CEO Steps Down

Media release from WOW Ltd

World of WearableArt CEO Steps Down

The Chief Executive of World of WearableArt (WOW), Meg Matthews, has announced her intention to step down from the role early next year.

In 2012 Meg joined WOW with the specific aims of managing the World of WearableArt team and further evaluating opportunities for the expansion of the WOW brand internationally.

Speaking about her departure, Matthews said “I am enormously proud of the work that our team has achieved. It feels like we have made great progress in the almost two years that I have been here, and I appreciate the energy our team and partners have all brought to our work together. After a great deal of reflection I have decided that the time is right for me to leave WOW and look to new opportunities. This is in part due to the great progress we have already made – and, in part, the passion I have for building great brands to achieve their goals. I also look forward to spending more time with my children and to project-manage a house build as our family settles into Nelson.”

“It has been a privilege to lead such a great team and to work with the remarkably talented Dame Suzie Moncrieff and her sister Heather Palmer”.

Founder Dame Suzie Moncrieff said “we have made great progress, with the development of an international strategy and most recently the Government announcement of $900,000 funding towards this strategy. We wish Meg all the very best as she looks to new challenges.

Matthews’s departure will be early 2014 following a recruitment process for her successor.

ENDS.
