CTC Aviation appoints RNZAF Chief as new leader for Hamilton flight school

Hamilton Airport-based airline pilot training provider, CTC Aviation, has appointed Air Vice-Marshal Peter Stockwell as its new Managing Director.

Currently Chief of the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF), Peter joins CTC Aviation as Managing Director in mid-February upon his retirement from a distinguished 40-year military career. He is meeting staff and cadets at the flight school for the first time tomorrow

During his RNZAF career, Peter has experienced all aspects of senior operational and training leadership in both New Zealand and overseas. Of particular relevance to his new role with CTC Aviation, Peter has served in a number of flight training roles and been the Director of Air Force Training.

“I am very excited to be joining CTC Aviation, a dynamic company that is renowned for setting high standards and producing very professional pilots. I’m also looking forward to applying my aviation knowledge and experience as CTC looks to further capitalise upon the global growth in the aviation sector,” said Mr Stockwell of his appointment.

Mr Stockwell also currently sits on the New Zealand Aviation Industry Association (AIA) Board which is constituted by the leaders of the major New Zealand aviation organisations.

CTC Aviation trains in the region of 2,000 airline pilots each year for approximately 50 client airlines around the world. The company delivers a comprehensive portfolio covering aircrew selection and supply, cadet pilot training and a full range of advanced courses for experienced pilots.

The company works with a number of airlines to help them recruit pilots. These include easyJet, British Airways, DHL, Jetstar, Dragonair, Qatar Airways, Jet2.com, flybe, Royal Brunei Airlines, CityJet, Thomas Cook and Monarch.
