My Food Bag now delivers fruit

My Food Bag now delivers fruit

The team that brought food fans the sensational My Food Bag home delivery service is now adding fruit to the menu.

The latest time-saving offering from My Food Bag is My Seasonal Fruit Bag, an add-on for existing customers. It comprises a fresh, seasonal fruit bag delivered direct to the door.

My Food Bag co-founder, cook and dietitian Nadia Lim says Mother Nature has blessed New Zealand with a bountiful amount of fresh fruit available year-round.

“So adding fruit to our nutritionally sound meat and vegetable offering was a natural progression,” Nadia says. “Each of the fruit bags delivers only the very best produce, sourced from some of the finest orchards, growers and distributors throughout the country.”

Launching this week, the fruit bags are available in two sizes - $14.99 for two people per delivery and $29.99 for four people.

“One of the greatest things about eating with the seasons is the variety of fruits you’ll enjoy,” Nadia says. “Your fruit bowl will never look tired again with our combination of stone fruit, pip-fruit and berries together with delicious tropical produce that will vary as the seasons change.

“Time is such a valuable commodity these days so busy people don’t want to waste it shopping for necessities. Simply add a fruit bag order to your My Food Bag ‘Gourmet’ or ‘Classic’ and you’ll have new found freedom from the tyranny of the clock.”

The seasonal offer kicks off with My Summer Fruit bag which “will even have the kids excited to eat their five-plus a day”, Nadia says.

With a focus on sustainable and ethical produce, 90 per cent of the fruit is sourced locally and each order is packaged in a recyclable cardboard box or paper bag.

From the orchard to the home is only a matter of days, Nadia says.

“Not only does this ensure you enjoy the produce at its freshest and most nutritious, it also ensures the bag occupies a minimal carbon footprint.

“Fruit shipped from thousands of kilometres away is always going to lose its optimum goodness,” Nadia says. “Eat seasonally and locally and you will enjoy the difference.”

My Seasonal Fruit bags include:

Small Summer Fruit – fruit for two people for five days at $14.99 per delivery
Large Summer Fruit – fruit for four people for five days at $29.99 per delivery
