Innovative Milk Meter Wins Supreme Design Award

Millennium Plastics was awarded the Supreme Award at the 2014 New Zealand Plastics Industry Design Awards. Millennium won the award for their contribution to the design and development of Waikato Milking Systems’ all new Electronic Milk Meter.

The milk meter showcases innovative kiwi design through its unique ability to provide real-time data on milk production and quality, helping farms increase long term profitability.

The Gala event was hosted by Plastics New Zealand with principal sponsor Competenz. Special guest at this enjoyable and well attended evening was Dr Mary Quin, CEO of Callaghan Innovation.

Gold medals were presented in 13 of the Award categories.

“The range of entries highlights the best of innovative plastic design and manufacturing capabilities across the very broad spectrum of our industry, Plastic New Zealand Business Manager” Ken Sowman said.
