Tourism Australia Snaps up Fifth Marketing
Award in New Zealand ‘Explore Your Passion’

Auckland, New Zealand. 09 October, 2014. Tourism Australia New Zealand region has added to an already impressive collection of marketing accolades by scooping two more awards at the recent News Works NZ Newspaper Awards, taking its annual tally to five.
The NTO’s most recent accolades were for Best Media Thinking (recognising clever thinking) and Best News Brand Campaign (best use of content and newspaper channels including print and digital). The campaigns associated with the awards focused on the four consumer passions; Nature and Wildlife, Shopping and Shows, Food and Wine and Culture, all of which have been identified as compelling reasons for Kiwis to travel to Australia. Award judges cited the ability to drive quality audience engagement and activation across print, digital and tablet as one of the successes of the campaign.
The campaigns deliver rich storytelling in ways known to connect with Kiwis that drive aspiration, intention and conversion of travellers to Australia, to do more, see more and stay longer. Tourism Australia New Zealand General Manager, Jenny Aitken said “Here in New Zealand we are always looking for innovative ways to connect with Kiwis about their number one holiday destination and to demonstrate why there’s nothing like Australia. Given the high repeat rate of Kiwi travellers, travel agents are encouraged to leverage a slice of this pie. More Kiwis are going to Australia than ever before and are looking to book unique holiday experiences. This presents a great opportunity for agents to take a fresh look at how they sell Australia to repeat travellers.”
