Independent Experts to Lead Technical Investigation

AECT Welcomes Appointment of Independent Experts to Lead Vector-Transpower Technical Investigation

Auckland, 10 October 2014 – The Auckland Energy Consumer Trust (AECT), the majority owner of infrastructure group Vector Limited welcomes the appointment of three independent industry experts to undertake Vector and Transpower’s initial technical investigation into the cause of the Penrose substation outage.

Energy and Resources Minister Simon Bridges has also asked for the Electricity Authority to investigate the outage.

Trust Chairman, William Cairns, says that it is important to understand what caused the incident.

“The inquiries are a very important part of the review process in ensuring continual security of supply, and we are pleased that Vector and Transpower are moving quickly.”
