New Plymouth is the major city in the Taranaki region on the North Island’s west coast of New Zealand. The city is a convenient mid-point between Auckland and Wellington by car and is well serviced by air with its local airport.
New Plymouth District is an eclectic mix of diverse cultures, contemporary style and a traditional friendliness that has fashioned New Zealand since colonial times. First populated by Maori in the early 14th century, New Plymouth was settled by English immigrants in the 1840s. The city has numerous assets from epic surf to spectacular gardens, international events to a legendary mountain, great galleries, fascinating museums and wonderful walks and cycle trails.
“Heritage Hotels are pleased to welcome The Devon Hotel to the group and add New Plymouth in the Taranaki to its rapidly expanding portfolio, now covering 22 hotels across 18 New Zealand locations,” adds Ronalde.
