Skinny Mobile Halves Calling & Data NZ Standard Prepay Rates

EMBARGOED until 19 October 2014

Skinny Mobile Cuts Calling & Data NZ Standard Prepay Rates in Half

Now 50% lower than Vodafone and 2degrees standard prepay rates for NZ calling and data

AUCKLAND, NZ – Over the last ten years, the cost of living in New Zealand has continued to rise – on average, food prices have risen by 32.3 per cent, transport is up 35.7 per cent and housing has increased 66.3 per cent*.

However there is one industry that has continued to defy the trend – the mobile phone industry.

Mobile data, calling and text prices have been on the decline according to the 2013 Annual Telecommunications Monitoring Report.

Skinny Mobile, the mobile phone brand that is redefining the way the Kiwis communicate, just announced new NZ calling and data standard prepay rates that are 50 per cent lower than Vodafone and 2degrees standard prepay rates for NZ calling and data.

“In our experience over 50 per cent of Kiwis on prepay are still using standard rates, and have been paying hefty prices to do so,” says Ross Parker, General Manager of Skinny Mobile.

“At Skinny, we believe in great pricing for everyone, so we’re making some big changes to our standard rates and dropping our standard rate cost per minute and cost per megabyte to just 20 cents."

Skinny’s new pricing is available now.
