Ford Ranger is New Zealand’s favourite truck
Ford Ranger is New Zealand’s favourite truck, again outselling Toyota HiLux
Auckland, 4 November 2014 - With provisional sales of 628, Ford’s award-winning, 5-Star safety rated Ranger is the country’s most popular truck as it once again led the segment in monthly sales in October.
The best-selling Ford Ranger has also continued to win awards and comparison tests against increasingly stiff competition. Late last year it was named NZ4WD Magazine’s 2013 4WD of the Year and more recently, the Ford Ranger came out on top in NZ4WD Magazine’s big 2014 ute shootout, which compared the Ford Ranger against all major competitors, including those that have had major recent upgrades.
With so much attention and the continued accolades, the Ford Ranger continues to win over private and business customers with many customers making the switch from key competitors.
“That’s perhaps the most satisfying – seeing so many customers, private and fleet, making the switch to the Ranger,” said Corey Holter, Managing Director. “And for us it’s all about the customer. We’re confident we have the best truck on offer in New Zealand and Kiwis are agreeing with us.”
“We’re really proud of the Ranger and its 2014 performance – having delivered all-time sales records three times this year, including back to back records in September and October,” added Holter.
Design and Engineering
of the Ford Ranger
The entire range, both 2WD
and 4WD models, possesses a level of cutting-edge technology
and 5 Star Safety that puts other utes (including Ranger’s
primary competitor, the Toyota Hilux) in the shade.
Ford New Zealand Marketing Manager, Chris Masterson, said Ranger had struck a chord with customers in New Zealand.
“The fact that Ranger was designed and engineered just over in Australia means it has proven capability in harsh conditions; something that our customers recognise,” he said. “It’s a vehicle that fits perfectly with the requirements of customers across New Zealand and the world.
“When you look at the Ranger model lineup, with customer-inspired features like Bluetooth connectivity, 5-star ANCAP safety across the range and then add in high levels of refinement and capability, it provides customers with something more than just a work ute.”
Masterson said with Rangers in both 2WD and 4WD configurations, including the range-topping Wildtrak 4WD, there was a Ranger to suit most customers looking for a ute with the features they want and desire in a ute.
