Tremendous potential for the ANZ region as SMBs and enterprises rapidly adopt new generation data protection focused on backup, disaster recover and and sharing technologies
Acronis Announces Promotion of Lincoln Goldsmith to Australia and New Zealand General Manager to Support Ambitious Growth Plans
Sydney, 13 November 2014 – Acronis®, the global leader in new generation data protection, announced the promotion of Lincoln Goldsmith to General Manager Australia and New Zealand. Goldsmith brings strong channel leadership experience and will expand regional efforts in support of the company’s global strategy to build the business by bringing advanced data protection supporting cloud, virtual and physical environments along with secure file access sync and sharing to SMB and enterprise customers.
Goldsmith was previously Mobility Sales Director responsible for driving sales opportunities and strengthening relationships for the Acronis Access solution with Acronis’ distribution and reseller channel partners in ANZ. He now reports to the President of Acronis International and Executive Vice President of Asia Pacific, Japan & Emerging Markets, Jan-Jaap Jager.
Regarding his promotion, Goldsmith said: “My focus is on leveraging Acronis’ expanding product set to engage with the right customers and the right partners to increase our growth across the two countries. Driven by our AnyData Engine, we now offer very high-level new generation data protection technology providing file sync, share and access products as well as on-premise and to the cloud backup and recovery solutions – covering consumer to SMB and enterprise. This is a very exciting time to be at the helm of the local operation.”
Goldsmith takes on the role while Acronis is actively building momentum in the region. In addition to its recent acquisitions of BackupAgent for service providers and the nScaled Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service portfolio, next week the company will be announcing the release of new Acronis Access solutions including data access, sync and share editions for small to midsize businesses (SMBs) and larger enterprises. In parallel, Acronis has moved ANZ head offices to Level 12, 83 Mount Street in North Sydney to better support local expansion with high quality demonstration, training and customer and partner meeting facilities.
One of Goldsmith’s priorities is to strengthen and develop the Acronis ANZ distribution channel. He will host representatives from seven local partners at the “Accelerating Growth with Acronis” Partner Summit, being held in Singapore from November 19 to 21.
Jan-Jaap Jager said in announcing the appointment: “Due to the widespread acceptance of cloud, mobility and backup in ANZ, this region will be a very important growth point for Acronis within the coming years. With his deep knowledge of our marketplace and the Acronis channel, the new drivers for partners’ success and the value of our technologies, we know that Lincoln is the right person to deliver on our expectations.”
