Econergy recognised at Sustainable Business Network Awards

Econergy recognised at the 2014 NZI National Sustainable Business Network

Econergy has won the Mega efficiency Impact Award at the NZI National Sustainable Business Network Awards held at Shed 10 on Auckland’s waterfront on 18 November.

The NZI National Sustainable Business Network (SBN) Awards are New Zealand’s longest-standing and pre-eminent sustainability awards. The awards are now in their 12th year and are designed to recognise businesses that are making a real difference by innovating New Zealand’s business landscape.

Econergy impressed the judges with proof that new generation heat pumps are changing the wasteful industry of hot water cylinders, backing up their application with impressive results around energy savings for everyday households. The judges liked the fact that Econergy systems can be retrofitted onto current hot water systems: this shows they are providing a solution which is tailored to the NZ market. The judges believe there is huge potential for technology like this to improve energy efficiency, and would like to see solutions like this becoming the norm.

Econergy Managing Director, David Senn said “We are blown away by this award, especially

given stiff competition on the night from several publically listed companies. We take it as tacit endorsement that our growing customer base is saving a massive chunk of energy and carbon emissions with their heat pump hot water system installations. Receiving this recognition will help us to scale the project together with its economic and environmental benefits”
