ASB / Main Report Regional
Economic Scoreboard
September 2014
Quarter
Canterbury continues its dominance of the
ASB/Main Report Regional Economic Scoreboard and has now
held the top spot for the last four quarters.
The region
continues to perform strongly across all economic
indicators, with particular strength in employment and
population growth boding well for the region’s
future.
Auckland remains in second place with the tight
housing market and population growth continuing to stimulate
construction.
Elsewhere in the regions it’s a mixed bag
with Nelson, Tasman and Otago all rising up the
rankings.
The ASB / Main Report Regional Economic
Scoreboard takes the latest quarterly regional statistics
and ranks the economic performance of New Zealand’s 16
regional economic areas.
