Māori Television Appoints Interim Head of News and Current Affairs

Māori Television has appointed award-winning journalist and TV broadcaster Maramena Roderick to the position of Interim Head of News and Current Affairs.

Maramena Roderick has an extensive background in journalism having reported for the New Zealand Herald before rising to senior news and current affairs roles at TVNZ.

She has covered international affairs as a foreign correspondent, as well as award winning investigative reporting in New Zealand. In the independent sector, she has directed and produced a wide range of programming, including the critically acclaimed shows Songs From The Inside and Behind the Brush.

CEO Paora Maxwell says Maramena Roderick is an appointment of the highest calibre and will be a fine caretaker of the news and current affairs department until a permanent head of department is appointed in the new year.

Miss Roderick joins Māori Television on the 24th November.
