Xero’s managing director meets Kiwi fans

Xero’s managing director meets Kiwi fans

It is time for growing businesses to meet and greet a dynamic business woman who is at the helm of one of the nation’s most significant young companies.

Victoria Crone became managing director of Xero New Zealand in 2014 and she is taking time out to meet the business-users of the cloud software that has revolutionised the accounting industry.

Business Buddy and ASB invited Ms Crone to the coalface of Auckland’s small and medium businesses to share her story about being Xero’s first New Zealand managing director.

The position was created in 2014 when Xero’s founder Rod Drury moved his attention to developing business offshore, while Ms Crone looks after the domestic sector.

At the informal, free event business people can ask the tricky questions and hear about Ms Crone’s changing role.

Having worked for Telecom and Chorus for 18 years, her experience and irrepressible energy complements the fast-paced environment of the cloud software industry.

Xero’s strength lies in its interaction with the real business people who use their tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their own business.

Ms Crone says: “Xero is definitely the poster child for the new business model; the big question for me was, ‘where’s the customer?’

“Are they truly at the heart of our business? From what I’ve seen, the answer is a resounding ‘yes’.”

ASB was the first bank to provide the essential automatic account feeds that makes Xero feasible for small businesses.

The bank is Xero’s strategic partner and has consistently updated its system to minimise the time businesses spend entering the numbers and maximising the useful information the cloud software provides.

Join Ms Crone at ASB Greenlane Regional Centre, 323 Great South Road, Greenlane from 6-7pm on Wednesday February 18.

All business people are welcome and there is no charge but there is limited space.

Register with Business Buddy at Astill Hawke by Monday February 16, 2015.
