New Kiwi-Designed App to Streamline Business Travel

In a New Zealand-first, a new app has been launched to increase the efficiency of business travel.

The Orbit Travel App has been created by New Zealand’s largest Kiwi-owned Travel Management Company, Orbit Corporate Travel. It will enable travellers to save time and secure access to all itinerary details with real-time notification of any changes to bookings.

The new app is able to host a traveller’s entire itinerary regardless of airline, and include accommodation, rental cars, taxis, trains and event bookings so that all details are in one place. It is also the only travel management company app to offer domestic check-in at the gate for Air New Zealand flights.

“This all-in-one app has been designed with the business traveller in mind, and will help them remain organised, connected and constantly updated while they are away,” says Paul Halford, Marketing Manager for Orbit. “Business travel can be stressful, so we’ve created an app that will help travellers relax a little more by having all the information they need at their fingertips.”

Using leading technology, the information contained in Orbit itineraries will be automatically loaded into the app after registration so travellers don’t have to enter booking references to find their flight or hotel details.

Plus, any changes made along the way to bookings will be updated in real-time whenever the app is opened, with easy-to read notifications, so travellers don’t get any nasty surprises, says Halford.

Checking in for flights has also been made even more convenient, with the app offering domestic online check-in with Jetstar and Air New Zealand barcodes for kiosk check-in, Koru lounge access and gate access.

Halford says travellers will be able to keep copies of their passport and other valuable travel documentation safe in the app, which has a secure pin protected lock.

“Travellers using the app can access helpful travel tools such as a currency converter, Google maps, weather forecasts and destination guides to help navigate the local landscape with ease,” Halford adds.

Designed by leading Kiwi corporate travel agency Orbit, in partnership with digital media specialists Satellite, the Orbit Travel App is free and available exclusively (for Android and Apple mobile devices) to travellers of Orbit Corporate Travel clients worldwide.
