Z doing even more Good in the Hood for 2015
Z’s Good in the Hood is back for 2015, offering a share of more than $1 million to local groups that help people who need it.
Applications for Good in the Hood 2015 are now open, and Z’s General Manager Retail Mark Forsyth has announced that this year there’s even more in store for successful applicants.
Every Z station will again be giving away $5,000 to help their neighbourhoods. Of this $5,000 per station, $4,000 will be distributed between four neighbourhood groups or projects that are selected by their local Z station to be part of the Good in the Hood programme for 2015.
“Our customers will determine how the $4,000 will be split across those four groups per Z station during the voting period in May,” said Mark. “The remaining $1,000 will be used by our local retailers throughout the year to support other neighbourhood projects and initiatives around each Z station.”
This year, on top of the $5,000 per site, Z will also put up an extra $250,000 nationally to help supercharge 2015 for up to 25 of these locally-selected groups.
Good in the Hood is all about keeping it local.
“We know that there’s no way that we could know what matters to the diverse communities around New Zealand better than the locals do, which is why, for the last three years, we’ve left it up to our local teams, and our local customers, to decide what they want to support in their own neighbourhoods,” said Mark.
“We know the $1 million makes a big difference for groups helping people who need it. We’re always looking for ways we can do more, so this year we’re putting up an extra $250,000 to help supercharge 2015 for up to 25 of these groups across NZ.”
Local sites and customers will also help determine how the extra $250,000 will be distributed. Z will announce more on that later.
In the meantime, to have a chance to share in the extra $250,000, all groups have to do is apply to be part of Good in the Hood 2015.
Applications are open for all of February, and interested groups should say hello to their local service station teams.
“We encourage you to pop into your local Z station before 28 February to introduce yourself and find out more about the Good in the Hood criteria. Our teams would love to meet the people doing good in their neighbourhoods,” said Mark.
