BACS Good Business Egg Awards 2015
BACS Good Business Egg Awards 2015
Almost 100
companies in New Zealand have been nominated for The BACS
Good Business Egg Awards 2015 and now the challenge is to
take the remaining 53 that have secured a place in the
second round into a short list.
Business and Community Shares (BACS) verifies what businesses are doing for their corporate social responsibility in New Zealand with the aim of showcasing the best providers of excellent community investment.
This process includes independent surveys, checking business reports and websites and more importantly listening to community organisations that “tell it how it is” says Julie Donvin-Irons Founder and Director of BACS, “we’ve seen some terrible advertisements and promotions that want to impress us with a bit of branded sponsorship that in some cases is just smoke and mirrors.”
“Involvement in social issues in New Zealand isn’t just a business marketing event and there are plenty of ways to report and be proud of what businesses have committed to. The benefits are as much for the company as it is for a community organisation and we need to make sure there is a balance.”
Community leaders are the decision makers as to who wins an award, now in it’s third year. And it is they who present the Good Business Egg at the ceremony to be held this year in Wellington.
