Mortgage Express: Bridging the Cultural Divide

As New Zealand’s migrant community continues to grow, Mortgage Express is serving the needs of this community with tailored solutions designed around their unique needs.

In order to move forward in a country that’s as culturally diverse as New Zealand is, it’s vital that businesses begin to bridge the cultural divide. In a recent staff intake, Mortgage Express has employed a number of skilled Mortgage and Insurance Advisors from various parts of India.

Fluent in the local dialect, our Mortgage Advisers understand first-hand the complexities involved with buying and selling property in a foreign country. Language barriers aside, the differences in culture often complicate the process.

Applying the thinking and knowledge of Indian culture to working closely with our clients, Mortgage Express is better able to serve the needs of the Indian community.

Meet four of our newest recruits, all of whom hale from India.

Pradip Chakraborty
Born and raised in Delhi, India, Pradip is fluent in Indian Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu and can speak Gujarati. Being of Bengali descent, Pradip is also fluent in this native dialect. Now living in Auckland, Pradip is well connected within the Bangladeshi community here, and clients from Fiji, Pakistan, Bangladesh and India can benefit from Pradip’s community knowledge and expertise.

Dilip Datta
Originally from India, a large part of Dilip’s career was spent working in the Middle East, affording him a deep understanding of Muslim culture. Dilip is multilingual and can converse in English, Hindi, Gujarati, and Urdu, and has a limited understanding of Arabic. Dilip is an active member of various Indian Cultural groups along with Christchurch Migrant Society and New Zealand Multi-cultural Society.

Mahesh Amrute
Having migrated to New Zealand in 2001 from Mumbai, India, Mahesh Amrute understands first-hand the dynamics involved in settling into a new country. As an active member of the Auckland Marathi Association Inc., Mahesh is involved in a number of community events and festivals aimed at sharing culture and customs, and building stronger community ties within the Indian community. Mahesh’s home languages are Hindi and Marathi, and he has an understanding of Gujarati and Punjabi.

Lalit Bajaj
With over 15 years’ experience in the financial services industry, 4 years of which were spent as a mortgage adviser, Lalit Bajaj has extensive knowledge of business economics and financial planning. Lalit is fluent in Hindi and Punjabi and believes in building strong relationships with his clients, while helping them to better plan and manage their finances.
