BNZ - Air New Zealand partnership to end

BNZ today confirmed that the bank and Air New Zealand will end its GlobalPlus rewards partnership, effective 30 April, 2015.

Craig Herbison, Director of Retail Banking & Marketing, said GlobalPlus was ground-breaking when it launched almost two decades ago.

“BNZ and Air New Zealand have enjoyed a longstanding relationship, but our customers are changing and so are we. They’re looking for freedom of choice in the rewards and recognition they receive.

"From 1 May 2015, all GlobalPlus card customers will receive cashback, which means they can fly or buy as they choose, or use that to reduce their debt. This is about being good with money,” Craig says.

“Making the change as effortless as possible for our customers is our top priority, so we’ll be writing to all our customers shortly to outline the changes, depending on the specifics of their products.”

BNZ reassured its GlobalPlus customers that they could continue to use their GlobalPlus products as usual, and said customers will hear from the bank in the coming weeks.

BNZ continues to provide customers with rewards through its partnership with Fly Buys.
