Leading real estate trio joins Colliers in Christchurch

Leading real estate trio joins Colliers in Christchurch

14 April 2015 - In a major commercial real estate coup, Colliers International in Christchurch has signed three of the city’s leading brokers to its fold, strengthening its position as the market leader in the South Island.

Highly respected investment sales specialist Mark Macauley is a new partner in the business and has been appointed general manager, Brynn Burrows is the new director of commercial leasing and Sam Staite the director of industrial sales and leasing. The trio are formerly of fellow commercial realtor CBRE, where Macauley was managing director in Christchurch.

In a separate move, leading retail specialist Nick Doig has been named the new director of the retail division.

Managing director Hamish Doig says he is delighted with the appointments to Colliers and the feedback from clients is enthusiastic.

“Mark, Brynn and Sam are all highly experienced and respected brokers with 30 plus years collectively working in the local market. They share the same ethos as Colliers of working collaboratively to achieve the best possible outcome for clients. The response from clients I’ve spoken with so far is extremely positive.

“In the past we have worked alongside all three brokers and we have always been impressed with the calibre of their negotiation skills. To have them as part of our team consolidates our dominance in the market. We think this is arguably the most significant commercial real estate move in New Zealand for very many years,” Doig said.

Colliers has been heavily involved in championing the return of office and retail tenants to the CBD. It has been instrumental in assisting the recovery of the central city and has control of numerous central city developments.

“Collaboration is crucial in this new era of Christchurch. We are continuing to work with landlords and tenants to ensure the best possible mix of businesses and retail offerings,” Doig said.

The Christchurch office was recently named the best performing franchise for 2014 in the Colliers fold and one of its new brokers, Courtney Doig, was named Rookie of the Year as the best performing new broker in New Zealand.
