Green Gorilla Shhhhh Collection Vehicles Launched

Green Gorilla Shhhhh Collection Vehicles Make Rubbish Removal Faster, Quieter & Kinder to the Environment

Auckland recycling and waste services company, Green Gorilla, has rolled out the latest in waste truck technology with the launch of Shhhhh Dual Collection Vehicles, an eco-friendly, more efficient, quieter alternative to traditional vehicles. The trucks are being aimed at Auckland businesses that require a regular collection service, such as institutions, restaurants, cafes and schools.

The unique design of the Green Gorilla Shhhhh Dual Collection Vehicles allows the engine to shut off when the vehicle is stationary, saving on power. The system that empties the bin and compacts the waste is driven by electricity rather than the truck motor, making waste removal quieter and reducing emissions. On top of that, the trucks have rechargeable batteries that are repowered through the national grid each night, meaning the energy they use is from renewable sources.

“Sustainability and efficiency is at the heart of what we do so we are thrilled we can make these new Shhhhh vehicles available to our customers,” says Graeme Bowkett, Managing Director of Green Gorilla. “Both recycling and general rubbish can be picked up by the same truck, which increases the efficiency of collection, reduces traffic on the roads, reduces emissions and means less disruption to customers. They’re an exciting addition to Green Gorilla and we are looking forward to seeing increasing numbers of Auckland businesses using them over time.”

The Green Gorilla Shhhhh Dual Compartment vehicles are designed to service small to medium sized businesses such as offices, commercial businesses, cafés, stadiums, schools, banks, apartment complexes, retirement villages and institutions.

Bin sizes range from smaller 240L wheelie bins to larger sized 1100L bins. Bins can be emptied as frequently as daily, making them suitable for those with little space for a larger waste bin or businesses that produce degradable rubbish that cannot sit around for long periods.
