New models are the marriage of tablets and printers: a game changing solution that is redefining the printing experience for business users
Auckland, New Zealand – April 23, 2015 – Samsung Electronics New Zealand today announced the launch of the Samsung Smart MultiXpress Printer series.
The Samsung Smart MultiXpress series of MFDs are the first printers from Samsung to be equipped with the Android operating system – which enables them to be supremely intuitive, easily scalable and customisable to suit different office environments.
The design came from a need to redefine the printing process – bringing printing solutions in-line with the ubiquitous connectivity, integration and simplicity of other everyday business devices, such as smartphones and tablets.
“Users should be able to customise their printers because every office is different and making them as easy to use as our smartphones. That is the thinking behind Samsung’s world first printers with an Android-based interface – bringing great user experiences for printers as well.” said Verdon Kelliher, Enterprise Director, Samsung NZ.
The new range boasts six multi-function device (MFD) printer models that are now available in the New Zealand market.
“The paradigm of the printing market is now shifting into the new era of enterprise mobility. Digital convergence, digitisation, mobile/cloud collaboration and security will be the next innovations in the printing market.” says Mr Kelliher.
“Samsung’s new A3 line-up is driven by our cutting-edge technologies that deliver ultra-fast speed, professional-quality output and an intuitive Android based tablet user interface. All the traditional key buying factors are met with affordability, reliable operation and genuine Samsung toners. Samsung Business is committed to driving productivity via Samsung’s smart office experience which we believe will revolutionise the way IT administrators and New Zealand enterprises use and manage their printers.”
Serverless Printing (printing without a PC)
The new Samsung Smart MultiXpress series of MFDs each feature a 10.1-inch full touchscreen panel that helps enable users to search and print from web browsers, emails, maps, images and other types of content (without the need to connect to a PC or server)[1]. The touchscreen also offers the ability to preview documents, as well as providing a range of editing and annotating capabilities.
User Friendly UX and Personalisation
The new Smart MultiXpress series MFDs feature Samsung’s Smart UX Centre, the same touch-based, customisable UX technology featured on the Samsung Galaxy line of smartphones and tablets. The Smart MultiXpress series MFDs includes haptic technology that re-creates the sense of touch with vibrations for a tactile user experience.
Extensible Connectivity
Android OS empowers the new Samsung MFDs with great printing app scalability – similar to smartphone technology – reinforcing both the connectivity and scalability of the printer range.
Furthermore, all Smart MultiXpress series MFDs are compatible with Samsung’s XOA (eXtensible Open Architecture) printing solution platform, and can be customised to meet specialised business requirements.
Improved NFC Printing Technology
The new MFDs have now been upgraded to NFC Pro [2] to help meet the changing needs of the B2B market. By adding the new Samsung NFC Pro accessory (sold separately), the MFDs allow easy access from compatible smartphones for mobile printing, a strong user authentication process, and great IT administrative functions, such as the ability to “clone” the same security settings on multiple MFDs just by tapping on the NFC Pro[3].
High Quality and Reliable Technology
The launch of Samsung’s Smart MultiXpress series of MFDs will help provide fast document processing speed and help enable multiple users to print and scan large documents. In addition, the Smart MultiXpress series MFDs offers long lasting toner and drum technologies to help maximise the lifespan of previous Samsung MFDs and results in greater reliability.
