The NZDUSD opens at 0.7695 (mid-rate) this morning.

Prior to the release of this morning’s FOMC the NZDUSD had traded as high as 0.7740, as the USD continued to lose ground against all of its major competitors. The FED attributed the economy's first-quarter slowdown to "transitory factors” and reiterated once again that interest rate rises are still on the table should they see further improvement in the labour market and when they’re reasonably confident that inflation will move back to its 2 percent objective over the medium term.”

We now await this morning’s RBNZ Statement for further direction.

European and U.S. equity markets are sharply lower- Dow -0.51%, Nikkei CLOSED Shanghai+0.01%, FTSE -1.20% DAX -3.21%, CAC -2.59%

Gold prices have fallen $6 to $1205 Oil (WTI) is up 2.5% trading at $58.50 a barrel
