TVNZ sponsers New Zealander of the Year Awards
TVNZ Proudly Joins Sponsor Family of New Zealander of the Year Awards
TVNZ has joined the family of partners behind the prestigious New Zealander of the Year Awards, championed by Kiwibank.
The awards, based on public nominations, recognise, encourage and reward New Zealand's most vital asset - its people. They honour the incredible achievements of individuals, organisations and community groups who create a sense of national pride, unity and inspiration through their example as mentors and role models to the wider community.
TVNZ will be the television media partner and presenter for the New Zealander of the Year Awards.
TVNZ’s Head of Sales and Marketing Jeremy O’Brien says TVNZ feels privileged to be able to help bring the incredible stories of so many amazing New Zealanders to life through its platforms.
“The awards are a perfect fit for TVNZ given the role we already play in bringing the amazing stories of New Zealanders to millions of Kiwis every day. And judging by the previous winners the future winner stories will be just as inspiring and humbling.”
Glyn Taylor, organiser of the New Zealander of the Year Awards, says he’s delighted to have TVNZ on board as a supporter of the awards.
“The awards are in their seventh year and we’re excited with some of the ideas TVNZ has for supporting our vision to make the awards even bigger and better. Our partnership will bring greater engagement with the general public during the awards nomination process and when celebrating the incredible achievements of these fine New Zealanders.”
Nicky Ashton, Kiwibank General Manager of Marketing, said the TVNZ partnership would help make the Awards even more special.
“The New Zealander of the Year Awards is the highest possible accolade for New Zealanders who work tirelessly to making other Kiwis better off. They are New Zealand’s way of saying thanks.
“We’re thrilled to have someone of the calibre of TVNZ on board to drive awareness of the Awards programme and to tell the stories of these incredible individuals.”
Nominations for the 2016 awards open 1 July and close 30 September 2015. The Kiwibank Local Hero medal recipients will be notified late October and other category semi-finalists announced mid-December before the awards ceremony in Auckland next February 2016.
