Colliers wins four RICS Awards

Colliers wins four RICS Awards

Colliers International wins four awards and achieves runner up in four more industry leading awards.

Colliers International achieved first or second place in eight of the nine awards it entered at the annual Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) New Zealand commercial property awards last night. (May 18).

One of its four victories was the overall award for most sales transactions over $5 million. This is the fifth year in a row Colliers has won the award.

The three other RICS award victories based on both quantitative and qualitative criteria were Property Management Team of the Year, Industrial Team of the Year and the inaugural Research and Consultancy Team of the Year.

Colliers’ four merit or runners up awards were for Valuation Team of the Year, Commercial Team of the year, Retail Team of the Year and Best Deal of the Year. The merit awards were introduced this year due to the exceptional quality of entries and the minimal margin between first and second place getters.

Colliers CEO, Mark Synnott, says his team is very proud of the long track record of success Colliers has within such highly recognised industry awards as RICS.

“RICS has made a point of weighting its criteria for award winners from a largely numbers and quantitative focus to one built around qualitative achievements. Many of the awards were based on the quality of the team’s work, such as success and complexity of a specific project, client satisfaction, innovative approaches, and sustainability initiatives.

“It demonstrates our teams can win based on both the quality of their work, as well as their impressive sales figures.”

Auckland managing director for Colliers International, Charles Cooper, says being placed in the top two over eight categories demonstrates the depth and breadth of our experience across a wide range of services.

“This result is a credit to the hard work and high calibre of our staff and senior leadership team.”

RICS is the world's leading professional body for qualifications and standards in land, property and construction, with about 180,000 qualified members world-wide.

The Property Management Team of the Year award went to Colliers for the third year in a row. This year it was won by the Corporate Solutions team led by Don Smith, for securing property management and service assurance of the BNZ national portfolio. This represented the Corporate Solutions team’s biggest contract win.

The Industrial Team of the Year was awarded to the Colliers Highbrook industrial team, led by Greg Goldfinch, for the sixth year in a row

Colliers Research and Consultancy team, winners of the inaugural Research and Consultancy Team of the Year award, is an industry leader in New Zealand led by Alan McMahon, producing market insights for clients around the country.
