Giesen Wines appoints general manager in Marlborough

Giesen Wines appoints general manager in Marlborough

21 May 2015 - Rhyan Wardman has been appointed General Manager – Marlborough for Giesen Wines.

Wardman has worked in the wine industry for more than 20 years. He started his winemaking career at Seresin Estate in Marlborough in the mid-90s and has held a variety of winemaking positions. In 2010 Wardman returned from the UK, where he was wine director at Constellation Europe, to join Indevin partners as chief winemaker and latterly chief operating officer.

He is a board member of Wine Marlborough.

Kyle Skene, general manager of Giesen Wines, said the growth of the company’s portfolio had prompted the move to support a general manager in Marlborough.

“Rhyan has an impressive track record in the wine industry, working at the top level both in New Zealand and internationally. We’re delighted to have him as part of the Giesen family.”

Giesen Wines has 13 vineyards and 274 hectares in Marlborough, along with its expanded winery and Cellar Door. Head office and distribution remains in Christchurch.
