MPA Announces 2015 Magazine Media Awards

The Magazine Publishers Association NZ (MPA) is thrilled to announce the 2015 Magazine Media Awards and is now calling for entries.

The annual awards aim to inspire excellence by celebrating creativity, innovation and the unique ability of magazines to engage audiences through the craft of storytelling.

The Magazine Media Awards honour magazines, initiatives and individuals that demonstrate journalistic and design excellence, imagination, and commercial success.

Pip Elliott, MPA Executive Director, says: “The updated name - Magazine Media Awards - and the 44 award categories reflect the ever-evolving role of magazines and the diversity of magazine media offerings.”

New awards in 2015 include: Best Owned Media/Custom Publishing Brand, Best Retail/Subscription Campaign, Best Sales Solution, and Best Brand Community.

A team of more than 50 industry leaders have been selected as judges and Kim Mundell, Director of Mandeville Limited, returns to the role of Judging Convener. Kim says: “By using a process of peer reviews during the judging we can be assured we are reaching an unparalleled standard of excellence.”

Paul Dykzeul, MPA Chairman, says: “The MPA is committed to revitalising the Magazine Media Awards and creating an awards programme that captures the multi-faceted nature of magazine media and represents our vibrant and varied industry. I have every confidence that these awards will showcase magazines at their very best.”

All award categories, entry forms and criteria can be found on the MPA website (www.mpa.org.nz). Entries are open from today and the deadline for entry is Friday, July 3, 2015 at 4pm. Finalists will be announced in early August, with tickets for the awards ceremony going on sale at the same time.

The awards ceremony will be a black tie gala dinner, held on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Auckland’s Viaduct Events Centre.
