AMP announces $1,000 ‘future booster’ KiwiSaver prize

Missed out on the Government $1,000 KiwiSaver kickstart? AMP announces $1,000 ‘future booster’ KiwiSaver daily prize draw

Leading life insurer and retirement savings provider, AMP, has today announced that it will offer new customers who sign up to AMP’s KiwiSaver Scheme the chance to go in the daily draw to win a $1,000 ‘future booster’ between now and 14 June.

There are no age restrictions for receiving the tax free $1,000 booster, and the draw is open to all new customers who sign up via an Adviser or AMP’s website*.

Therese Singleton, General Manager Investments and Insurance, at AMP says: “Following the Government’s withdrawal of the $1,000 KiwiSaver kickstart there was naturally disappointment from those who had yet to sign up – especially as the $1,000 kick start could grow to be worth more than $9,000 over a 40 year period**.

“However, for those who had been ‘meaning to sign up’ to KiwiSaver all is not lost, as AMP is giving people a chance to go in the draw to win a $1,000 tax free boost towards their retirement savings,” continues Singleton.

“For those looking to purchase their first house, they can withdraw the $1,000 as part of their first home purchase provided other relevant criteria are met. Additionally, the booster will count towards a members’ balance for those who are looking to ensure they’ve reached the $1,042.86 threshold to receive a $521 Member Tax Contribution which are only available to members aged 18-65,” concludes Singleton.

Despite the withdrawal of the Government $1,000 Kickstart, AMP still believes KiwiSaver is the best retirement savings vehicle to help New Zealanders build the retirement Kiwis dream of.
